The International Airport Kempegowda (BLR) is an airport that serves Bangalore (Bengaluru), Karnataka, India. It is located approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) from the city, near the town of Devanahalli.
The original name of the airport was Bengaluru International Airport, but in 2013 it was renamed after the founder of Bengaluru, Kempe Gowda I. Kempegowda Airport is the three busiest airport in India, after the airports of Delhi and Mumbai .
In 2018, 38 million passengers used the airport. In terms of international traffic it is the 5th busiest airport in the country behind Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Cochin.
Kempegowda International Airport is a main hub for AirAsia India, Alliance Air, and IndiGo and a focus city for Air India and SpiceJet.
