👜 Baggage regulations at Virgin Australia
The rules on allowable carry-on luggage are based on Virgin Australia flights by destination and booking class. On international long-haul flights, International Economy or International Premium Economy Class passengers are allowed to carry one piece of 7kg hand luggage. International Business Class travelers are allowed to carry two 7kg pieces of hand luggage. Each piece of hand luggage must be within the sum of the three edge lengths (H + B + T) within the total circumference of 115 cm. In addition, per person on board a personal item is allowed, such as an umbrella, a laptop or a small lady's handbag. Creams, gels or liquids must be dispensed separately in a transparent, resealable plastic bag with a volume of max. 1 liter will be shown. The individual containers may only hold a maximum of 100 ml. For your child, you may take a sufficient amount of baby food in your carry-on luggage for the duration of the journey. These must also be presented to the security check before the flight without being asked.
Check In Baggage:
The free baggage allowance included in the ticket price for your flight with Virgin Australia depends on the destination and booked class. On international long-haul flights, Economy Class passengers are allowed to carry up to 23 kg of baggage, while Premium Economy or First Class 2 passengers are allowed to carry 32 kg each. For members of the frequent flyer program, additional baggage items are included in the ticket, depending on their status. Please note that no piece of luggage may weigh more than 32 kg. For infants an additional piece of luggage of 10 kg may be carried. For security, please mark all your luggage with your name and address. Online check-in at Virgin Australia is only available for flights within Australia. Select the appropriate menu item on the website of the airline and enter your ticket number, then you can print your boarding pass. Alternatively, you can also use the mobile app of the airline on your smartphone. If you only want to travel with hand luggage, you can then go straight to the security checkpoints at the airport. Passengers on international flights should check in at the airport desk 90 minutes prior to departure. The counters open 3 hours before departure.
