In March 1996, the Philippine airline Cebu Pacific was founded. The airline is based in Metro Manila - in the metropolitan area of the Philippine capital and based at Mactan-Cebu airport. Even then, the airline has set itself the goal of becoming a mere budget airline.
In early 2014, the acquisition of the airline Tigerair Philippines was announced by Cebu Pacific. This has particular implications for a more extensive cooperation with Tigerair from Singapore, so that now the numerous already existing flight routes can be further expanded. The airlines Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines are the only ones in the whole of the Philippines, which have a flying license for the European aviation area. All other airlines have been excluded due to non-compliance with the relevant regulations regarding air traffic safety oversight in Europe.
Today, the fleet consists of more than 50 aircraft, which is within the Philippines and now also internationally. In addition to Indonesia, Thailand, China and Brunei also Dubai is served.
