Batik Air is Indonesia's newest private airline established in 2013. The airline is a full-service subsidiary of Lion Air.
Lion Air , the parent company of Batik Air, created Batik Air as a full-service airline that began operating in May 2013 using Boeing 737-900ER leased from Lion Air. Batik Air 737-900ER aircraft were equipped with two-class seats. Batik Air offers a personal television (in-flight entertainment system) in each seat, light snacks and free meals, 32-inch (81 cm) seats for economy class and 45-inch (114 cm) seats for executive class, and a Free luggage of 20 kg (44 lb) for the economy class and 30 kg (66 lb) for the executive class. As of September 2019, Batik Air serves over 58 domestic and international destinations, including Singapore, Chennai in India, Perth in Australia as well as Guilin and Kunming in China. Current fleet consist of 58 Boeing and Airbus aircarft.

Batik Air offers a free checked baggage allowance of 20 kilograms for national economy class flights and 30 kilograms for business class flights. Batik allows passengers to carry hand luggage, with a maximum weight of 7 kilograms, to the cabin.
