The Bahamasair is the national airline of the Bahamas, based in Nassau, the capital of the country. It operates national flights and 15 stopover destinations and regional flights to Havana, Cuba, and four Florida cities. It began operations on June 18, 1973. Its main base is the Lynden Pindling International Airport. As of October 2019, the Bahamasair fleet consists of 9 aircraft and is flying to 32 destinations. Bahamasair flies from Nassau International to Havana in Cuba, Providenciales on the Turks and Caicos Islands, Miami, Baltimore and Columbus in the USA. In the Bahamas - Cat Island, Crooked Island, Exuma, Grand Bahama, Mayaguana and San Salvador. Seasonally Bahamasair flies to Cibao and Las Américas in the Dominican Republic and Piarco in Trinidad and Tobago.

Recommended Check-In Times
If travel is completely within the Bahamas, recommended check-in time is at least two hours prior to departure.
For international flights, we also recommend that you arrive at the airport at least two hours prior to departure to allow sufficient time to complete all necessary international requirements.
In addition to checking in two hours before departure, you must be present at the departure gate and ready to board prior to scheduled departure time to retain your reservation and a seat. All Domestic Flights are closed 45 minutes before departure.
Check-In Requirements And Baggage Acceptance Cutoff Times
Customers must comply with minimum check-in requirements to retain their seats on the flight on which they are confirmed. Pre-reserved seats are subject to cancellation unless you have checked in (obtained a boarding pass) at least 45 minutes before scheduled departure.
For passengers checking bags, there are also baggage acceptance cutoff times. “Baggage acceptance cutoff time” means that customers must present themselves and their baggage to an airline representative for check-in no later than the stated cutoff times for the departure airport.
For flights originating outside the Bahamas you must check in two hours before departure, and be present at the departure gate and ready to board at least one hour prior to scheduled departure time to retain your reservation and a seat. Standard baggage acceptance cutoff for flights originating in all airports outside the Bahamas is 60 minutes before departure.
For international departures from a U.S. city, standard baggage acceptance cutoff time is 60 minutes.
